17 things I've been enjoying lately
May and June's horde includes my first 5 star read of the year and...onion jam????
Greetings, you feral goblins!
This one will be short ‘n’ tart like the funky little strawberry buds that are popping up like weeds in our yard!
Mini book covers
They’re just so CUTE! These are printed on a sticker sheet so I can add them to my reading journal!
Reading
I finished Two Twisted Crowns this week and it was somehow better than the book before it, One Dark Window, which was also phenomenal! 5 stars for Two Twisted Crowns! I’m eager to get Rachel Gillig’s next book, The Knight and the Moth. But only after I finish Assassin’s Blade.
Onion jam
An interesting find from a local farm! Incredible on grilled chicken and everything bagels (with parmesan cheese on top).
Morning pages
Split hair
Mind Pump Podcast
I’ve been learning a lot from these guys! They’re hilarious and they are very good at explaining things in layman’s terms.
Lifting heavy, again.
Crispy cold Moscow mules.
Sketching and allowing mistakes.
Physical painting, despite the fact that I’ve had to paint over the canvas a few times!
Peonies
Homemade salsa
My partner makes friends at the local bar, one of which is a nice middle aged woman who makes the BEST salsa that we have ever had! He buys them from her one huge jar at a time, to which she gives him wrapped in a brown paper bag.
Coffee black as pitch and strong as a mule.
Music
Holy Fawn: Imagine if Lana del Rey and Type O Negative had a brain child. Holy Fawn is that brain child.
Drain’s new single “Nights Like These”: pure fuckin’ hardcore - one of my favorite artists, James Bousema, created that killer cover.
The two new singles from Harm’s Way: hardcore with a twist. I’ve been running those songs on and off my commute.
The new screen door
